Here’s the video for “Next Girl” off The Black Keys‘ album Brothers, due May 18th. The scrolling text at the bottom of this video is hilarious. I recommend watching it twice – once for the visual elements and once for the jokes at the bottom of the screen.
BTW The Black Keys hate this video and don’t find it funny at all.

Did you know that ex-Unicorns and ex-Arcade Fire members buddied up and made a band called Clues? It’s true. And it’s kind of exactly what you’d expect. The quirkiness and jagged edges of The Unicorns plus the waves of sound and layering that you’re used to from Arcade Fire. Check out “Ledmonton” below from their S/T album released almost a year ago.

Band Of Horses are giving away another freebie from their upcoming album Infinite Arms, out May 18th. I’m still expecting to hear at least one giant song like “Funeral” that will swallow the rest of the album whole, but so far I haven’t heard that. That could be a good thing. “Factory” is my favorite that I’ve heard so far. Inifinite Arms sounds like it’s going to be a solid album that showcases ghostly, distinctly American singing.

New York City based super duo The Knocks (Benjamin “B Roc” Ruttner and James “J Patt” Patterson) have been remixing their way into the innanetz heart for a minute now. These boys might be two of the busiest dudes in the music industry. They work with the next big things (Ellie Goulding, Mr. Hudson, Theophilus London), remix your favorite songs, opened their own studio (Heavy Roc Music) in China Town, and compete in aggresive dance battles every friday on the lower east side. On top of all that they have just finished producing new pop artist Samuel’s debut album Trains to Wanderland for Startime/Colombia Records.
“Blackout” is the first single of many they will be releasing themselves under the Heavy Roc Music label over the course of the summer. You know when you’re up in tha club and you hear a song that just sets the whole place off, that’s this song. The knocks have an amazing ability for producing mainstream hits without selling out. With lyrics fit for a Facebook picture album title and a beat that pretty much forces you to bob your head this track wins. The song will formally be released on iTunes on May 4 along with edits, covers and remixes from Xaphoon Jones, Samuel, Fear Of Tigers and Yes Giantess.

For their new album, ‘Planet Anthem,’ the Disco Biscuits are going for something slightly different than the sweaty, marathon throw-downs that they’re famous for live. Sure, the concerts are packed with kids who follow the Biscuits from show to show, but their albums were never as fully appreciated as their nightly spectacles. The band spent three years working to change that, via a focused effort in which the songs would be treated as songs instead of jams. Likewise, this time around they’re treating the videos as videos.
“All of our past videos have been DIY,” bassist Marc Brownstein admits. “But we knew we had to do something special for ‘You and I.’” So when the Biscuits flew to Japan this past summer to headline the Fuji Rock festival, they brought along Ghost Town Media (Death Cab for Cutie, Kanye West) to make the video.
Also check out Ski’s remix. Truely amazing. His colab mixtape with the Disco Biscuits is going to be fascinating! I likey way better than original.

It’s been nearly 5 years since their last record, but the Books are back with “Beautiful People”.
The Books have been consistently original and perpetuate a bittersweet tinge of humanity in what otherwise would be describe as frigid, robotic laptop music (read: Beautiful People’s many math and science references).
Inspired by Marvin Gaye’s self-imposed European exile and controversial performance of the national anthem at the 1983 NBA All Star game, I WANT YOU is a collection of dark jams that restlessly examines the promise of love beyond lifestyle. Touching on LA electrofunk, UK indie, tropical escapade and obscure afropop you never knew existed, these are stories from the way we live now: missed connections and misunderstandings, video chats and retweets, returns and deliverables. We know today is all black everything but more to the point: this is now noir as we know it. And this is Theophilus London.
Is this the mixtape of the year????? I think so!! Go Theo!!! And go download this amazing gem of a freebie NOW!

Otherwise give it a play and enjoy the eargasms.

If you missed the last post, here’s the deal – rapper/producer Necro is filthy, and he’s been cooking up some new filth. Disgusting, violent, and pornographic. Whoever coined the term “harcore rap” was not anticipating this shit. If you get offended by anything, then Necro is not for you. He will offend you, then cut off your mom’s head, skull fuck it, and write a rap song about it over a grimy beat.
Like I said before, I can’t really get into Necro. His shit is too extreme. I lied. I’m into this it has an Amy Winehouse feel to it. His new LP Die! is out May 18th.

Speaking of lasers (that’s called a segueway) here’s the video for Lupe Fiasco’s “I’m Beaming” from the upcoming album Lasers.
