Dance Dance Dance – Lykke Li & Bon Iver Live
I’m loving Lykke Li (click to see more) at the moment and I though I’d share in fun.
Kissing Taste – Lo Fi Fnk
Want U – Lo Fi Fnk
Sweden pops out the most diverse musicians. Seriously. From ABBA to Lykke Li the differences in between are astronomical. I just love hearing from a new Sweden band. I know it’s going to be something different, something I’ve never heard before. I know it’s going to be good. Lo Fi Fnk flew under my radar in 2009 when they released “Want U” a “simple static-y synth, with rhythmic accompaniments” . Maybe
Original Don – Major Lazer
There’s few people nowadays that can put a dancehall track at the top of the charts. Leave it to Major Lazer aka Diplo to load this track with hypnotic electronic sounds that will take you on a journey. This is surely a song to get you pumped for anything. This is a top notch banger. Makes me want to go to a sweaty dancehall this morning.
The Vision (Let Me Breathe) – Joker ft. Jessie Ware & Freddie Gibbs
Here’s a strange yet compelling combo. Freddie Gibbs the master of the streets shredded this track with his great storytelling and crisp voice. Then we have Joker one of the originators of melodic dupstep keeping this track on another level. Also Jessie Ware voice complements the wide variety of sounds and grounds the track. First listen I was thrown off a bit but now it’s starting to like my stereo. To fully enjoy this lovely song turn up the volume and the bass if you have one.
Charmed Life – Icebird (Panther Remix)
RJD2 producer and singer Aaron Livingston have been in the lab cooking some greatness up. Here’s a glimpse of this amazing project. “Charmed Life” brings the funk phenomenon. It’s hard yet smooth and soulful. Icebird reminds me of Dam Funk in a lot of ways but the difference can be heard in production and in Aaron’s strong old school voice. What brings Icebird to the front of cutting edge is their modern approach to a backdrop that usually is plagued with standard soulful choruses. Enjoy this fresh take.
Just heard of this Swedish pop duo after seeing the neon packed video “Manners”. Impressed I checked them out again and here’s yet another party anthem chorus. Not sure what to say about the video. It caught my attention and soon lost it as did the theme.
The Greatness – Pac Div (Prod No I.D.)
Here we go with my man No I.D dropping some serious throwback beats here. Pac Div got hooked up big time. This makes me wanna go a buck 80 on the highway screaming “Whooo-WHeeee”. Yes this is greatness. Great stakes and great lengths sum up this beauty. Enjoy the few nice days before the wintor comes.
So American – Portugal. The Man
Mnnnn summer you beautiful friend. Why do you do this every year? Why do I miss you so much?? Damn you for leaving me summer. You break my heart every year you do this. I miss you even more when I see videos like this -where you are obviously flaunting what you’ve got to me. I know I can’t have it. But why tease me…..
What Is This – The Away Team ft. Evidence
What happens when 2 masters of their craft hook up and throw down a track? Here ya go! Slightly on the off quilter but more towards sweetness. This sound is deffinetly a creeper. MC Sean Boog and producer Krysis of The Away Team take you on a haunting yet smooth ride into their vault.
What The Water Gave Me – Florence and The Machine
Here’s the highly anticipated follow up to 2009′s Florence & The Machine’s extrodinary Lungs. “What The Water Gave Me” delves even deeper into Florence’s gothic tendencies. With enormous spacive soundscapes and slow but intense build ups. Below is the video for this new song and The Weeknd’s remix of “Shake It Off”.
