Crave You – Flight Facilites
This does not need much fanfare, I’ll let the song do the talking (typing). Flight Facilities is a DJ duo from Australia that mash songs together and this song Crave You is their first original production feat a lovely lady named Giselle, whom looks like someone I know. Here’s the official video for the song.

Just over a month ago Confusion gave you guys a track from Adele called Rolling in the Deep. Extraordinary and soulful singing by Adele with a beat that makes you bounce your head. Adele can reach some amazing notes and, although she seems soft spoken when not on stage, she exudes the confidence of a diva when she sings. Luckily for us Jamie XX acquired the track and remixed it. He brought more bass and tweaked the voice at different parts of the track. I didn’t download the original but definitely will when it comes out on iTunes on Jan. 16. I really like what Jaimie XX did with this and look forward to more of his work.

The Eclipse Soundtrack has leaked and it’s pretty good. The album has tracks from artists such as Band of Horses, Vampire Weekend, Fanfarlo, and this song from Florence + The Machine. I feel like Florence and her machine parts wrote this specifically for Bella and Edward (not that I know the character names psh). This track is Florence doing what she does best, delivering emotionally driven vocals over powerful drum heavy instrumentals. I’m beginning to think this bitch could make anything sound awesome. Florence could sing the ABC’s and make it sound epic.

Here’s the visual for “The Ghost Inside” by the Broken Bells, featuring Christina Hendricks. This joint is off of their self-titled album and is available for purchase now.

Their self-titled album was released on Lettuce Flavored Music (BMI) in 2010. This album sounds good, with Mercer’s raspy indy voice over Danger Mouse’s electronic bleeps and bloops, and some songs (The High Road, The Ghost Inside, October) are brilliant, but the problem is that there are no surprises here, nothing you wouldn’t expect from this billionth Danger Mouse collaboration.

Gordon Voidwell is killin shit right now! “Ivy League Circus” allows the listener to role play like they’re a character in the movie Purple Rain without looking like an idiot. Ivy League Circus is an official release on Cantora Records.

Just like the song states, here we go again, this time with a killer remix by Xaphoon Jones. Mr. Jones takes a stab at the debut track from The Knocks, “Blackout”, giving the song a little extra kick (in your ass). This remix is exactly what anyone wants in any remix ever at any time. It’s a speaker bumping, dance track that is no doubt going to get you out of your seat. Xaphoon adds some extras drums in the mix which gives it a cool drum-line sound. All in all, Xaphoon and The Knocks deliver in full force on this banging party anthem.

I was going to paraphrase William Fitzsimmons bio, but it’s just too good.

“William Fitzsimmons is one of the oddest people you will ever meet. Born the youngest child of two blind parents, William was raised in the outskirts of the steel city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Due to the family’s inability to communicate through normal visual means, William’s childhood home was filled with a myriad of sounds to replace what eyes could not see. The house was suffused with pianos, guitars, trombones, talking birds, classical records, family sing-a-longs, bedtime stories, and the bellowing of a pipe organ, which his father built into the house with his own hands.”

This guy is raging. Blind musical parents who build pipe organs and he rocks that beard, SO SOLID. I have been a fan of his ever since hearing his cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless”. His music has a very rainy day, late night drive, curl up and make out vibe . “So This Is Goodbye”, remixed by German producer Pink Ganter, sounds like the bass infused baby of Explosions in the Sky and Elliot Smith. It’s an emo track (about coping with heartbreak) with an electro feel…electremo? This song is off of Fitzsimmons’ new b-sides and remixes collection, Derivatives

Been waiting for a minute to introduce these guys to you. Reinvention. If you’re sitting around waiting for another Das EFX, Nas, or Mobb Deep to emerge, claiming that hip-hop is dead and holding on with all your might to dusty loops and boom-bap beats, you’re getting lapped by the new guys.
There will always be a place for that classic hip-hop sound, but don’t try to resist change. Right now, hip-hop is growing at exponential rates. We all love the James Brown samples, but Florence and the Machine? Yeah, you can feel things shifting right? Just try to keep swimming, or you’re going to start to sink.

“We’re DJ Entendu and Classic, and together we make up Reinvention. Reinvention is a two-piece experimental hip-hop outlet from Drexel University, founded just a few months ago in the same studios that spawned Chiddy Bang. We blend influences from indie rock and electronica with more traditional hip-hop music and try to make huge bangers that can appeal to anybody from a dancing fiend to a top-down, wind-in-your-hair, cross-country roadtripper.”

Take a listen for yourself.
