A lot of artist that have been hibernating are making 2012 the year of the come back. MNDR’s Amanda Warner has got a way to make electro-pop music sound underground. Her latest “#1 In Heaven” a catchy pop-danceable tune just got the visual treatment, pretty basic vintage 80′s feel to it.
Disconnect Me – Hello Echo
I’m embarrassed to say this but I was introduced to a snippet of this song from Jersey Shore’s latest season 4 episode 3. The 30 seconds that this song was featured made me stop everything just to find out what this hidden gem of a song was. Hello Echo just released a video for “Disconnect Me” that they describe as travelling to outer space and finding life, all in under 3 minutes.. I imagine once your on MTV you blow up. Anyways it’s been years since MTV has provided me with music that was good AND I was unfamiliar with. Thanks MTV for doing what you used to do, inform me of MUSIC. New to me but apparently “Dsconnect Me” is Hello Echo’s 4th music video which is off their debut album.
It’s rare that I get anything decent in my inbox when it comes to hip-hop. Tru Fam’s “Denim Cashmere” took “My Favorite Things” from the movie “The Sound of Music”, sped it up, threw a loop on it and bassed it up. Pretty simple but it work’s well. Tru Fam just played 21 dates on one of the Years Biggest Summer Tours ..2011 Vans Warped. Should be an interesting year for Tru Fam.
I apologize as of late I haven’t been posting. 2 reasons. I’ve been sick like a dog and secondly because there’s nothing worthwhile mentioning. Here’s a perfect example of me reaching to put something on Note Noted. Anyways here’s an interesting live video with Tyler, The Creator. You wouldn’t expect this tight live performance, it actually surprised me. What’s bothering me is that piano riff, I know it’s from a song in the 80′s but what song??
Here’s some chillback Saturday music for ya’ll. Pretty Lights just released “We Must Go On” and a homemade video as well. The mainly hip-hop track is filled with some soul and a uplifting vocal hook. Overall it’s just a beautiful song to throw in the background, it get’s the mind juices flowing.
“The creation of this track and video is also an artistic explanation as to why I chose the name ‘Pretty Lights’ for my musical project. It embodies the essence of the artistic eye and the idea that almost any moment, anywhere, can be a moment of inspiration and beauty” – Smith
Ordnance Survey – Breton
I’ve been recently introduced to Breton through their indie video making skills. When I heard they were turning their attention to music I was excited to hear their new EP titled Blanket Rule. It’s everything I expected from them, a whole lot of variety. Lot’s of top notch production making every song a winner. “Ordnance Survey” will start you off right with some freaking hand clapping and some funky organ sounds but you’ve got to hear Breton’s “Blanket Rule EP”
Listen to the stream of “Blanket Rule EP” after jump:
Here’s the latest production efforts for the already huge Ke$ha hit “Sleazy” featuring slick rhymes from Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Andre 3000 and T.I. You’d expect a big budget video featuring them all right? Ain, wrong. Instead we get none of them and a replacement of weird characters to fulfil each roll. Still very entertaining.
One Thing – Cris Cab ft. Pharrell
Like everybody else I heard of Cris Cab when he decided to do reggae-pop covers of the Top 40 hits. He got the attention of the mainstream and some pretty big artists such as Pharrell, Billionaire Boys Club, and Wyclef . So the name of his latest offspring mixtape is called “Echo Boom”. “One Thing” featuring Pharrell is a good snippet of the mixtape, Enjjoy!
Australia – Conner Youngblood
It’s been a year since I’ve heard anything about Conner Youngblood. His new album titled “Sketches Pt. 1″ just dropped on the internet. It is an eclectic mix of the staples that make Conner Youngblood so intriguing. “Australia” is the first track track on “Sketches Pt. 1″, it’s a very melodic and beautiful sounding. Make sure to check it out.
