Phlos Finister is living up to the hype. Even though she does what most new artist do at the beggining of their career. Hop on some classic tracks and “redo” them. Her sound is very familiar but o so very smooth. Its got this 90′s SWV flow to it, can’t go wrong with a songs like that. Even though a lot of potential fans will scratch there head, there’s so many people copying, thinking how do you seperate the ok from the great. Phlo figured it out. Drop a new original flow over a banger and you have an EP – “Crown Gold”. Yes this new album is based on the past. And yes she does say herself she wants to be avant garde. Is this the way to break into the R&B scene? It’s a good start.
Hear or download “Crown Gold” – the whole album after the jump.

“Urban fan bases need to be revolutionized. I think it can be authentic and classic, but it can have a new spin. People are copying so much these days, it’s hard to separate. What I’m doing, I want to be more innovative for my generation. I want to make a classic R&B, but the R&B that I’m making is going to be more avant garde.”
