Here’s some killa footage from last night’s doppest rap trio in my home city Montreal. These 2 together are obviously sick. This is the best footage we’ve seen from their Watch The Throne tour. Thankfully for my boys at Montreality we got some HD footage. This show was dope!!! They played every classic from Jay-Z and Kanye’s vault. If this show is coming to your city make sure not to miss it. This was history in the making!

Girl Panic – Duran Duran
Wow! Duran Duran went HAM on this video. A band that’s been around for 30 years. Wow! I feel old. Anyways to go with the typical Duran Duran visuals, as they themselves mention, they were the first to use super models in their videos. Let me tell you there’s no shortage of models here. This video is amazing on so many levels. First of all let’s talk about the wardrobe, accessories and styling? Double wow. What world does this perfection exist? Because I need a passport. It can’t only be in a Duran Duran video? Everything in this video is beautiful. Is that possible? Also what about the crisp visuals?? There so much eye candy. Like who really wakes up in the Savoy surrounded by that?

Home Again – Michael Kiwanuka
Here’s a guy that’s going to rock your world. Well maybe not rock it, but it will definitely move your soul. His first track “Home Again” is very powerful and moving sog. Its the type of song that gives me shivers. You have to give it to Michael Kiwanuka coming fron Uguanda and breaking into the music scene. It’s pretty obvious why once you hear his soulful voice and lyrics. Hit the jump to see the video for “Home Again” and stream The Home Again Ep.

Black Star – “Fix Up”

Fix Up – Black Star
Black Star, Black Friday. That’s what Mos Def Talib Kweli figured would be a good day to release “Fix Up”. This song originally premiered on Colbert Report. Can’t go wrong with a new song from Black Star. Been waiting a decade for this. Enjoy.

One source, PMA, said that this was a tribute to Amy Winehouse. After watching the video it’s pretty hard to see how High Five Collective is paying tribute to Amy. Nonetheless it’s pretty darn creative. The cinematography is on point, the acting from porn star Faye Reagan is quite funny. Not sure what to make of the video but it’s entertaining. It’s not the creepy usual High4Collective video but that’s ok with me.

Jhameel – Waves

Wicked – Jhameel
White Lies – Jhameel
Collision – Jhameel
Jhameel has been dropping tracks every Tuesday for a month now. The picture for his new music series Waves is getting clearer. Or is it? One minutes he’s very pop orientated then the next minute he’s switching the sound up with edgier in your face screaming synth-pop. It’s what I’ve grown to love from Jhameel. His work keeps me on my toes. Every track has it’s own element yet is very Jhameel. He pretty much sounds like 2 of my favorite artists, a mix of George Michaels and Michael Jackson. Listen to and download three new tracks from Waves, “White Lies”, “Collision”, and “Wicked”.

Stay tuned for an exclusive Note Noted interview with Jhameel. Where we’ll get to know the man behind Jhameel.

I featured Macklemore before with great praise. His track “Otherside” was a dark track about the realities of Hollywood. Macklemore can spit and his live performance at Knocksteady is evidence. This man puts all his energy and soul into his lyrics, you can see it in his face. This live performance brought out some pretty interesting instruments thus sounds. Trumpet and violinist with a tenor vocalist deems this a classic.

Baby Jaymes – What Ever Happened to Baby Jaymes

What Ever Happened to Baby Jaymes – Baby Jaymes
This is the first I’ve heard of “Ghetto Retro” and I guess it’s love at first site. After listening to Baby James I would say “Ghetto retro” does fit. Blending funk, pop and hip-hop….with a emphasis on the funk. The Oakland-based artist play tribute to an era with this unique throwback sounding style. This is a very fun and soulful cover of 50 Cent’s “21 Questions”.

Here’s some dark visuals to accompany Schoolboy Q’s new track “Sacrilegious”. Brooklyn native and Top Dawg Entertainment emcee has been dropping a lot of creative songs these days. HABITS & Contradictions comes out in December. Q’s take on this simple video is quite dark yet simple. Going with his issues lyrically instead of the norm and pretending it’s all about the money.

Y Luv – “Keep It Rollin””

Keep It Rollin – Y Luv
Y Luv, a few students from the campus of USC have a very melodramatic new song that . Frontman Freddy Janney described it to be about partying, questioning and trying to figure things out. “Keep it Rollin” starts off slow but builds into a fist pumping chorus. Y Luv is an indie rock act that surely to be a big deal. Their sound has been compared to a mix between U2 with the bullish rock flow of Foster The People. Check it enjoy, very catchy and infectious.
