There are times when I’m watching a video of a new artist I automatically jump to conclusions based on their appearance. I know I’m going against the old cliche about books and their covers but I can’t help it I’m human. So when I saw this video I automatically thought this was a joke. However, the young rapper from Oakland Kreayshawn is far from joking. Insert a young white lady that does whatever she wants and raps, and you have Kreayshawn.
Now the rap game has been changing over the past couple years. I’ve actually been documenting some of the better changes to it. One phenomenom that I particulary enjoy is the mash up of indie and hip-hop. It’s a breeding ground for all types of cool hipster hoppers. Unfortunatly this video has jumped lightyears in portraying the invetable future where indie and rap become one. I could be wrong because this video/song makes me gringe. I can see how someone like Kreayshawn fits into what rap is becoming. Hipsters rapping about designer brands not being cool. Hipsters can’t go wrong with this hook. “Gucci, Gucci, Louis, Louis, Fendi, Fendi, Prada The basic bitches wear that shit so i don’t even botha”
