In 2011 I say we just ditch genre titles all together, because music is being pulled in so many different directions that simply calling a song “hip-hop” or “pop” or “indie rock” or whatever else you want is pointless. Take this track for example. Rapper Ish and producer Don Diablo have teamed up for a side project called Why Are We Whispering. For their first release, they’ve remixed “Hello” by Martin Solveig featuring Dragonette. A little hip-hop, a little pop, a little electronic. Check it out/download it below.
Don and Ish have been steadily recording for the past few months, so we should expect some more music from them soon.

Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Maximum Balloon) takes on one of my gf’s favorite artists Lykke Li for this remix of “I Follow Rivers”. Her new album titles Wounded Rhymes will be out March 1st. Below is the new video that Lykke Li recently released for her second single ” I Follow Rivers”.

“Anna Sun” is the lead single from Walk the Moon‘s 2010 release. I have no idea how today was the first time I’ve heard of these guys. So when I reading this blog and the title was “Think you’ll love this song”, I was less than enthusiastic. Love…eh. But worth a post. As Neon Gold points out, this is indie rock with a “stadium-sized chorus” that could compete with The Killers. Check out the video above.
