Night Time Breeze – Jamie xx
MoneyBox Jamie xx – Eliza Doolittle
Eliza Doolittle gets remixed by The xx’s own Jamie. Doolittle is new to me but The Sun UK was onto her back in late December.
These two gems are sorta brand new, both stumbled upon during my need for more xx material. I like the “What Kind of Breeze Do You Blow” remix but the last minute or so does drag the thing down overall.

Young LA producer, MiM0SA, remixes Nina Simone’s “I Put A Spell On You” in the most experimental way…..it’s massive! Stay tuned for his new mini-LP Silver Lining set to drop October 4, 2010 on Muti Music.

RAC remix of Ra Ra Riot’s latest single “Boy” which can be found on their sophomore release The Orchard. I’m not going to lie, this is somewhat of a corny remix, but not in a bad way. RAC somehow manages to turn “Boy” into an uptempo groove that could be found on a Musiq Soulchild album… and thats a pretty cool thing! Especially when it’s rainy outside… This remix just feels good. Nothing more, nothing less.

As seen by the entire Internet, the August 19th premiere of Cee-Lo Green’s “F**k You” will go down in history as the day the phrase “f**k you” became totally benign and commonplace. But, in another case of loud web hipster chatter not resulting in a proportionate amount of viewers, “Fuck You” did not get to 1/2 million or 1 million mark faster than glossy stuff like Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone,” which had surpassed the Cee-Lo video’s current 2,822,225 million views IN A DAY!
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to predict that Cee-Lo’s “F**k You” is going to be the most remixed song of the year. I’m predicting it. That is not to say that I’m not a genius. I am. Swedish rapper Rebstar pulls off the first remix of Cee-Lo’s jam that I’ve heard (Correto on the fly: It’s the second. I almost forgot about the 50 Cent remix). Rebstar’s mixtape Arrival is slated for a Fall 2010 release.

ps I don’t swear because SEO land forbids it.
Why do some people get tired of remixes? What their little bird brains fail to realize is that you can never have too many mash-ups. Same with ranch – no such thing as “too much ranch”.
This collection is well done, and you can download it for free. But you shouldn’t, because if you dish out some cash for it, the money goes to a youth writing charity so little kids can grow up to be healthy powerbloggers.
The follow up to The Notorious xx, This Is Real Life seamlessly blends familiar hip hop artists with an array of indie rock tracks to create a mixtape that pushes traditional notions of genre and delivers a mix that showcases rarely heard aspects of each side.

This is the first song Matt and Kim have released since Grand. “Cameras” is the first single, released on FADER label, and it will also be a part of Matt and Kim’s Sidewalks album, out in November.
Even though I’m far from ashamed to admit that I adore Matt and Kim, they feel like a guilty pleasure. “Camera”, like the majority of their work, is so instantly understandable. While some bands pile layers atop of layers and reveal themselves piece by piece, Matt and Kim strip down and let it all hang out. There are usually only a few glaring elements at work in their songs, but those elements are so strong and catchy that it works.

I love this Miguel song. The original with J.Cole on it is easily one of my favorite R&B tracks of the year. Raekwon hops on for the remix and just gives me another reason to put this song back on heavy rotation.

Wiz Khalifa raps about so much weed that he should have a strain named after him. “Just got a zip of that Wiz Khalifa” has a nice ring to it, right? Here’s his latest video, from the Kush and OJ mixtape. In other news, my Monday morning headache is the worst ever. Left side of my brain might shut down soon. Happy Labour day…..wtf.

In the tradition of G.O.O.D. Friday, in which Kanye West has agreed to drop a new G.O.O.D. Music release every Friday until Christmas, Kanye has given us “Devil in a New Dress”. The song is a downtempo track, soulfully produced by Bink. I’d be surprised if this made it to Kanye’s album, at least without some major changes.

Busy day, no time for blogging, but new verses from Big Boi and 3 Stacks? For those that don’t know (I’m sure there are some who don’t), Big Boi + Andre 3000 = Outkast. 2 sentences perfect….need to make money… not not blog.
