Here’s Asher’s new single, “G.R.I.N.D. (Get Ready It’s a New Day)” let loose by DJ Enuff today on Hot 97. Asher delivers what sounds like a feel good summer song (once we get rid of all those nasty tags). Asher spikes his uplifting flow with a little bit of melody and he keeps things pretty serious, avoiding the schtick that we’re used to.

Oh what…not one but two from Sean Price…thank you rap jesus. I will leave the post at this. If you have never listened to Sean Price, there is something wrong with your brain. If you do not like Sean Price then you do not know rap. If you know Sean Price and like his music then you are good in my book. Also check how he flipped that Jay Electronica line in Snow…it will blow your mind.

Life is Short – Consequence
Q-Tip’s cousin Consequence making an entrance, 1nce again. Consequence’s Cons TV album has no official release date, but it’s expected to drop later this summer. One can only expect it to be amazing if he’s dropping freebies like this one. Life is Short is getting the single treatment. I would expect this to be the single of of the new album with this new vid and all, but it ain’t.
This songs rings so true and too many like myself can relate. Life is Short, that’s why I get my drink and smoke on. Live life to the fullest!! Never know when it’s going to be your time, one day your kicking and the next you’re six feet deep, being turned into an insects general tao meal.

Toro Y Moi’s side dance project Les Sins has given us a taste of what is to come from the brain child Chaz Bundick, rumors are circulating of a possible new album release in August of 2010 under Carpark Records and sweet promises of making us get up and move. I am sincerely hoping that he releases a full Les Sins record but it is still under speculation. Either way I am going to be fighting people off at the record store to pick that one up, give him a listen if you haven’t heard any yet. Currently listening on repeat.

If you haven’t heard of recent Brainfeeder signee Lorn, you’ve been missing out. His style is mad creepy almost. Real deep, real dark. Some of the synths in these tracks just cut soooo hard you feel like it’s sawing you in half. Not too much is known about the man, but the legend is clearly growing. He is dropping his new album “Nothing Else”, which “Tomorrow” will be on June 8th. I’m sure we’ll all get to sneak peak a little more of that soon. Meanwhile, check the bumps on this Biggie remix. Definitely one of the sickest remixes I’ve heard in a minute. Enjoy.

Here’s Mike Posners official video for Cooler than me. He’s trying a Justin Timberlake approach here, I’m not sure it works. He looks like a lost and confused version of Justin Timberlake.
